Blue tuxedo urchin

I came home today and my urchin was flipped over in the sand, I flipped him back and he is doing fine.. My question is do I have to flip him or can he do it ?? And any clue to why he was flipped over??

I have pincushion urchin in my saltwater tank and they flip themselves just fine. Although its very rare for them to just drop off.... What are your parameters btw?

Loosing spines is usually from stress, what are water parameters?
