Just got a small brain coral it came on a frag tone. Where can I put it in the tank low light low flow ? Can I just put it in the sand will it still grow or does it need a rock to grow on ? Sorry for all the questions.

29 gallon light is 160w led from eBay. I'm not even sure if it's a brain. Here's a pic ImageUploadedByAquarium Advice1391212159.385865.jpg

Not a brain. Looks like a chalice to me. It is usually a good idea to start new coral off at the bottom of the tank and move them up as needed to adjust them to new lighting.

That does not look like a brain coral. Incase it is or if you ever get one they need to be on the substrate. They do not like it on the rocks. If their skin touches the rock you'll see the fleshy part start to recede. Substrate is best.
