brittle worms eating my silicone

these are every where in my refugium, it looks like they are going to break the seal of silicone trying to get though. will they?
 
I wouldn't think they would actually be eating it. More likely, it is something they can get a "grip" on, and they just like climbing on it.
 
Hey aren't those things one of the bad inhabitants? I thought that they could grow to unruley lengths and eat corals and such.....

I hope I'm wrong because I saw one the other night in my tank.
 
Ive got big ones and little ones in my tank and they have never bothered any of the mushrooms or anything else in my tank and i have seen some pretty good sized ones. These days they are considered to be a beneficial part of the reef tank.
