Well my sand has brown algae on it. Doing a water change today, about 20%. Lost a sand sifter the other day. Clown still doing well as is the trigger fish. Not sure why I keep on getting algae as the tank isn't in direct sunlight and I do not have the light on for long periods of time. I am going to test the water and will post what it says. I am fighting the algae cleaning it off the glass and the sand. So what can I do besides what am I doing. Is there a great algae eater, it wouldn't starve in my tank.

If its a new tank it's diatoms which are caused by silicates. Once they're used up they'll go away.

I had a big diatom bloom 3months ago when I started my 55gal. Since I only have 2 clowns and inverts my bloom went away in less than a week and never came back. Make sure not to feed a lot.
