IS it good or bad my tank has been up for about 5 weeks. Should i clean it off. its just on the back wall of my tank. TIA for any Help. You all have been great so far.

Actually you are experiencing a diatom bloom which in new tanks is quite normal. I wouldn't worry about it much. As the tank matures a bit more it should burn itself out. Once the levels permit (Zero NH4 & NO2) and the nitrates are lowering, adding some snails will clean up the leftovers.

What was the source water used in the set up?

Cheers

I have this, too. It can be a pain, but it does eventually go away. I finished cycling (0,0,5) about two weeks ago, and my brown algae was everywhere!!

Snails and hermits are doing a good job. Just be patient - it really will go away in time! :)
