I guys I last posted my brown algal bloom under "massive BROWN ALGAL BLOOM". And thanks to all who gave me their imput. I tested for phosphates and there were only trace amounts. I have started topping of with RO water from the grocery store. My brown algae is now turning to an emerald green color is this normal? Is it bad? I like the way it looks, a lot better than brown.

TIA,
Andrew

What kind of algae is it? Ordinarily brown "algae" is diatoms. Red is cynobacteria. Green ...well that could be several different things. Is it more of a mat...a slime..hairy? That will help us tell you what kind it is. Most likely its due to the change in water you mentioned. Basically you changed the food your feeding it and another type of algae cropped up. Unless we talking about hair algae or slime algae, its probably a good sign.
