I have a 15 gallon that has been setup since January of '07. I do a 1-2 gallon water change once a week and replace the cartridge in my Penguin 200 about once every two weeks. There is also a powerhead in the tank.

I am getting a brown hair algae and even a maroon colored algae as well along the front of the tank on the sand.

How can I get rid of this?

Also, I am keeping two clowns and a cleaner shrimp. And one of the clowns is starting to seriously dominate over the other. Is this normal? It seems as though as if its even grown bigger as well. Any help would be ver much appreciated.

Typically, the larger of the clowns will convert to a female and become the more dominant one. I agree with Mike. You may also want to reduce feeding or lighting and up the PWCs. I would also look to my water source for excess nutriences.
