Bubble king skimmers

Is there any justification in the price of a bubble king skimmer. I know the the red dragon pumps are probably the best in the industry but $1200 for a skimmer that will handle my 220 reef seems crazy when I can get a reef octopus XP3000 for less than half that.
 
I guess the same reason one buys a Jaguar instead of a VW Beetle. They will both get you to the grocery store and both do the speed limit on the highway.
You are paying for a better engine (pump) and build quality. ;)
 
My opinion on this without actually owning a BK, is that it's just "bling". Like vortech power heads.....do you need them in order to have a thriving system? Nope.
The more air a skimmer draws, and the smaller it chops the bubbles, the better it will clean your tank. When shopping skimmers, make sure they have air draw listed.
