Bubbles

I have a 55G saltwater reef aquarium with a few tangs, urnchins etc.
I bought a air filter and bubble stone the other day and placed it in the tank. I heard from an unknown source now that putting bubbles in your saltwater tank is bad? Is this true?

Big bubbles like that are not bad but you will wish you had not put it in there. The bubbles burst at the top and spray salt along the top causing white old crusty salt creep. You`ll have to clean it constantly.
