Good news I think. Got my ceiling marked and sounds like where I marked is a beam. Can't seem to get the stud finder to work so my knuckle did the trick. (Knuckle used to work on walls why not the ceiling) LOL. So gotta get sleep for work, then hopefully tomorrow I can drill.

Tank temp is at 72 and slowly going up. Hopefully when I get home it will be stable and I can do my pwc. The mixed water temp is 79.8 and slowly dropping. So hopefully the two will be matched up tomorrow after work.

New heaters should be here next week. I hope.

Yep i say a pic is worth a thousand words. I needed the books so I can read on break at work (or home on the couch), mostly home I use my laptop. But I can't bring my laptop to work, we aren't allowed to use the internet on work pc's and looks like they are trying to stop personal cellphone use. So if they stop that I won't be able to research on break with my phone.

And lol can't get caught surfing the web in the bathroom lol, not like getting caught smoking in the bathroom in highschool.

Just tested the water in the Brute.

Salinity 1.025
Temp 79.3
pH- 8.9

WHAT THE HECK???????????????????? This is brand new salt and a different brand!!!!!!!!

I'm gonna bring my pH meter to work tomorrow and have my lab guy test it and compare it to ours at work and re-calibrate it. It was supposed to have been calibrated already too.

I'm also gonna see if I can get a portable pH tester from work and test everything here again to see what I get. And yes I'm gonna bring in some water to have him test also.

This is just ticking me off.

I feel so much better after seeing mrx's behind the scenes. My 30 year old "fish room" has been a death trap for years. Saltwater, electrical cords, refrigeration units, plumbing that looks like it's from a Terry Gilliam movie. What could go wrong?

Get some $5 calibration fluid, a low one at 4ph and one around 10ph. I have to calibrate my stuff at least monthly because it lies.

You'll get it straight buffy. there may be a calibration issue. That would explain the swinging ph no doubt. I'm hoping thats the trick.

Good luck! let us know what you figure out. You got a whole weekend to get this setup done now. LOL I'm gonna catch you with my 90g build if you don't watch out. HEHE

I have a mix of many different saltwater fish amongst my tanks, but I love my Tangs most of all.

Books are so great though! I love my books! You can just page through stuff and just meander through it. Online you need to know what you wanna search then weed through like a zillion thing. LOL

Wow, I sound old....I'll be quiet now...
