Hi all,

I've had Mexican Red-legged Hermits in my 55gal tank for over a year and never had any deaths or probs. Now, I just got 5 Cerith snails and 3 Bumble bee Hermits, and a Coral Banded Shrimp. 2 weeks later, all my Mexican Red-legged Hermits are gone.

Was it the Bumble Bee Hermits or the Coral Banded Shrimp that killed them? If it was the Coral Banded- wouldn't he have killed all of the Bumble Bee Hermits, too?

Thanks...

The likeliest culprit would be the CBS. The bumble bee's are not agile enough or fast enough to do something like that although they have been known to prey on other snails.

Are you sure your not seeing molts or they have simeply upgraded to larger shells?

Cheers
Steve

I did not see any of the bodies left behind. Just all of the empty shells :(
And no, they didn't seem to upgrade to larger shells because I can't find any of them anymore.

I'm thinking you're right about the CBS...
