For my new tank, I'm thinking about a copper banded butterfly and a longnose (forceps?) butterfly- or would they be destrucutive to the reef I have planned?

Most butterflies are not reef safe. I have a copperband in my 72gal reef with no problems. It did eat all my feather dusters though. Just keep in mind, most butterflies are difficult fish to keep and not really recommended for a beginer hobbiest.

My friend had a forceps butterfly that was absolutely beatiful. It ate like a hog, too. Really cool fish and I guess he just got lucky?
