calcium vs alkalinity

. Osmo•Prep is not required for Kent Sea Salt because it is designed for purified water, but may be used if you desire higher buffer, calcium and magnesium levels. It is recommended that only 1 teaspoon of Osmo•Prep Marine per 10 gallons be used when preparing water with Kent Sea Salt.

ive figured out my ca and alk test kits and am now getting consistent readings.
alk is 2.8
ca is 425
ph is 8.2

i brought the ca up with a ca supplement

do those test results seem ok? i having trouble figuring out what a good ratio is.

am going to start a new thread questioning the benefits of using crushed coral in di water tank to adjust water ph, alk and ca prior to using salt mix.

Numbers look fine to me. You are basically in the range you need to be for those numbers and can easily be maintained there. In future you can use <<this>> calculator to judge the balance if you decide to change the levels. Just don't look for exact numers, they are not neccessary.
