Cam I feed my dwarf hawkfish frozen cichlid food?

Someone gave me a dwarf hawkfish with corals and I tried to feed him pellets and did not care about them and then I did some research bout then only eating frozen foods and shrimp, could he take frozen cichlid food (beef heart) or will he be okay in my 75g till I can get plankton or brine?
