Can anyone help with a SeaClear System II

Hi:

I bought a 50g SeaClear System II for my first SW on Monday and don't know if there is something wrong. Since setting it up, I've been having a hard time getting the water level right. The control gate is fully open and and view window shows the water in the back chamber just below the top. I'm also getting tons of air from the water returns. Worse than that, this Morning I woke to find that 2 of the 9 Damsels I had placed in it were gone! Thats right, GONE! All of them are pretty small and looked fine last night. I thought that maybe they could have flowed over the gate and were caught in the filter but I completely checked, even ripping out the filter but no luck. It's an empty tank except for 3 corals and the substrate. Any advise, suggestions?

Thanks

Lou

Not sure lou; I'm gonna move this to the SW forum where maybe some folks with SeaClear experience will have some suggestions; good luck!
