Can Chitons turn into problems?

ok so a long time ago I found a chiton in my aquarium, no big deal he was only about an inch long. However tonight while walking by my aquarium I saw very large long white stripe on the glass. It was the same type of chiton but instead of only an inch this guy was four to five inches long. My question is can these guys get large enough to become a problem in a reef tank?

Sweet I have the exact same one In my system... He has not been no harm to my system... You really don't see them either they will stay in your LR and clean up what ever garbage that is on there.

cool thats what I thought. Just making sure they didnt get the way bristle worms do, good when small but can be bad if they get too large. It looks like we even have the same species chiton Tank.
