Can coralline be bad for corals?

I currently have a bubble coral which has almost half of its skeleton covered in bright green material which I suppose is coralline algae. Anyway, I know that algae is bad for most corals, but is coralline also bad? TIA......

IME , I have never had it to be detrimental to any coral that I`ve had.

If the coral in question is a slow grower, or is weakened, the coraline may overtake it. Typically seen on damaged LPS like Favia/Favites sp.

As you can see my rock is covered with coraline algea as is my glass and my 8 yr old bubble coral is thriving. My tank has had coraline in it for 9 yrs. As I said earlier, Based on my experience with the corals I have, you should be OK. I have yet to lose a coral to coraline algea in my 9 yrs of reefkeeping.
