I will be setting up a small saltwater tank soon. I have a Aquarium Pharmaceuticals FRESHWATER Master Test Kit, which test for pH, high pH, Ammonia, NItrite, and GH.

Can I use this FW Master test kit to test Saltwater, or will I get false, or no readings if I use this?

Thanks!

I use this set too, and the ammonia test is definately wrong. The saltwater reacts and solidifies slightly with the chemicals. Nitrite is okay, as it says its for saltwater too, and the Nitrate one also says its for saltwater if you buy it seperately.

PH indicators are good too in my experience!

A few of the tests will work in saltwater, but most won't. pH isn't going to go high enough. the nessler ammonia kit may not work, but a salicylate ammonia test kit should give correct readings.
