I've decided to go with the new Sicce PSK-1000 pump and pick up the Reef Octopus Extreme XS 200 for my 75 gallon with 20L sump. Its rated at 200 gallons which from reading they are saying is underated and could probably handle more.

So like my original question....can you overskim your tank?

I'm goin to say no, I wouldn t think that you can. The more the better. However it came skim out beneficial organics for your corals. But they would be fi e if you have good lighting nywho.

i've never heard of any protein skimmer being under rated, octos included. it's always a good rule of thumb to purchase a skimmer that is rated for 1.5 to 2 times your system volume.
that skimmer you have is fine.
protein skimmers pull out some good, along with the bad, but unless you are skimming a nano with that tank, i don't think you are going to notice any issues.
