I'll soon be adding three MH's and a 3 bulb icecap retro 660 kit. My question is I ordered 2 icecap 4 inch fans for now and I'm trying to figure out which way will remove the most heat.
One blowing in one side and the other sucking out the oppisite.
Both blowing in and cutting some big holes in the rear of the canopy.
Both blowing out with holes in the rear.
Both blowing in with holes cut in the top of the canopy itself.
Adding 2 more fans with the same theory's as above
If you have a better idea I'm all ears.

One sucking air into the canopy and one pulling it out the other end. Try not to have the air blowing directly across the mh bulbs. They say it will shorten the life span.

Both fans extracting heat from the canopy(blowing out). I'd recommend adding some slots w/ a router to the top of the canopy so the fans can pull air over the lamps. You may need a third fan, I'm not sure. A fan blowing into the canopy may prevent a MH lamp from reaching it's optimal temp. leading to color ( k ) and performance problems. HTH
