Canister filter and sump

Just a quick question. If you have a sump is it worth to keep using a canister filter?

I kept mine just incase of pump failure in the sump, that way there's still filtration going on

That makes sense having a back up. I find this canister a pain maintaining it.

Yea canisters are a pain. Noting easier than changing a filter sock and dumping you collection cup every week.
