So I'm thinking of investing in a better filter. Right now I have an Emperor Bio Wheel 400. It's got a great bacteria growth on it but I still feel like I'm missing out on something.

I was thinking about a Fluval 404 or a H.O.T Magnum 350. Does anyone have any opinion on these products?

TIA

The 04 fluval series has good reviews. I have the 104 and wash out my sponge filters weekly to help prevent any nitrate build up. It has activated carbon and the ceramic rings for wet/dry action... I also use a penguin 170 biowheel hanging on the back of my 32 gallon hex... Now If I could only figure out what to figure out a protein skimming plan...(no room). I would go with the fluval since they are more versatile. I used to have the magnum 350 (which was good).

Great, thanks for the input!

Anybody else have an opinion or an experience w/ these filters??
