Canopy Question?

Hi Guys, I'm buiding a canopy for my 75gal I'm putting 2 250 MH in it and some PC.

My question is, Can you paint the inside of the box with Clear paint?? Or any paint? I'm worried about the fumes it might create...

paint it with marine spar varnish. It is a clear coating made for boats. Works great!

I just used a white exterior paint.

I used an outdoor wood stain on my canopy. I have roughly 6 coats on it to get the color I wanted, cherry of course. LOL
