Catastrophic event turns out ok

I was in Chicago for 4 days...during which, it snowed a lot and blocked my vent on my furnace (hot water baseboard), so it wouldn't start (natural gas build up and all). Got home and the house was 42 degrees.

First thought...tanks.

The two FW were fine, although the frogs were a little cold.

The small SW was fine.

But not the main tank.

It was down to 54 degrees. It couldn't keep up even with 2 heaters, two pumps, 3 powerheads, and lighting. Too much surface area and an open sump.

I slowly raised the temp back up to 80.

The good news....all the fish survived...the only loss...about 3/4 of my Pulsing Xenia, but the remaining is bouncing back.

It could have been worse.

Wow Bear...I'm really glad for you. This could have been a disaster as you say.

Lucky you! I'm happy almost everything made it. Any plans of using more heaters?

Maybe moving to San Diego will fix the problem for good

Nope, I use 2 heaters, 2 pumps and lights. This was a freak occurance, I'm taking measures to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Wow, glad it turned out OK. Maybe you should buy a lotto ticket for yourself.
