When you mention cato you are refering to Chaetomorpha Algae.
While tangs are algae eaters Chaeto is pretty dense and fish line like and my opinion is that it will be eaten as a last resort or not at all. JMO

Mine loves it, if some gets in my display it eats it right away. I've had a naso that would eat clumps off a clip, just loved it. I've also had tangs taste it once and never touch it again.
