So I'm do far for a change in my chemical filter in my fluval g3 and I was wondering if I should get just regular carbon or can I use things like purigen or bio chem. I guess I'm trying to gather some intel. I'm fairly new to the whole canister filtration.

I have chemipure and purigen in my canister along with some sponges. My water is great. :)

So is carbon not necessary? Cause the canister has mechanical chemical and biological filtration in it.

Yep sorry I found that out I just bought some thanks! Every review I saw was 5 stars.
