Chemical Residue When Topping Off Water

Hello!

When I top off my water I notice a 'residue' in the water that is churned around. Is this just salt getting mixed up and ro/di water meeting saltwater or what? I notice it around my heater when I add water and I also notice it on the top few inches of water.

I take it you are talking about the blurry look that happens when you add fresh water to salt water. If you have good water movement it will blend together and all look the same after a few mins.
