Clams are different colour through glass!!

we have a 720 litre marine tank. 2 400w metal hallide lights. when you look at the clams from the top of the tank the colour is completely different when you look at them through the glass. a brown/blue clam through the glass and the top is brown/green. a mauve colour through glass and the top is blue. does anyone know why this might be so. please let me know.

I would guess it's the angle of the lighting reflecting off the clam to the angle you are looking...and the glass itself will defuse light, so it could make a difference to the colors you see at those different angles. Try looking through a piece of glass from the top. That'd be interesting

We, as a people, know so much more about outer space than we do about our own oceans. This lack of knowledge can very well spell the dangers that lay in wait for us.

The oceans surely would swallow us before a rock comes down to smite the planet of it's life.
