how often should one rinse out filter media including crushed corals in your biological filter?

Thats highly a matter of preference when we're talking about sumps and the large amount of different types of filter media available.

For me, I run filter socks at LR Rubble. The filter socks I change out whenever they clog (about monthly) and the rubble I just use a vacuum to do my water changes and get as much debris as I can.
