Cleanup crew in sump or just fuge

Does anyone put somecleanup crew of any sort in their sumps, or just their fuge? Sump has been running for a year, wondering if I should throw some snails in there to do some cleaning? Don't see what harm it would do.

I have put a few snails and even the occasional hermit in my hob fug from time to time........ Ive never had any issues from it

I'm guessing that you are talking about your return area of the sump right? Where your heater, pumps and other odds and ends are? I don't know about you but I always end up with a few snails down there. They seem to like to take a ride through the plumbing. I don't put any hermits in there just because there really isn't ever enough in there to keep them happy.

I have Peppermint shrimp and snails in my sump/fuge to get any uneaten food from the display.

Hmmm never thought about adding a peppermint into the mix!! That may be what happens as I transition from just a HOB to a full sump with HOB on the side!!!
