Clear hard sack on leather??

Question I have a leather coral that had a clear sack attached to it (on the stalk part) that was clear I took a razor and it just popped off I also noticed one with a black dot in the middle and it too popped off it looked like hot glue from a glue gun a lil clearer though. What was it? Thanks
