My maroon clown has a strange behavior. He picks up pieces of CC substrate next to his anemone and carries them across the tank and drops them. I've seen him struggle to pick up a small hermit crab near the anemone and drop it elsewhere. He's so neurotic about moving the CC that he's cleared everything down to the glass bottom.

Anyone else's clown do this?

YES! I have sand but mine takes pieces of rock and moves it. He bulldosed and cave I built for him because it was too close to his anemone. He fans all the sand near his anemone down to the glass. I have read that maroons lay their eggs on a flat surface, could be why they do it. I told my friend that I was going to try and pair my clown with another maroon and she said "good luck trying to pair that monster" he he, he's not really a monster, just needs a little tlc. Then again, if that is true about how they lay thier eggs maybe "he" is a "she".
