I have a dead spot in my tank where some Cyanobacteria has grown and my clownfish like to hang out around it and swim on it. They also don't let any other fish or shrimp get near it

55 gallon fowlr soon to be reef

Typical behavior, but it is more likely that it likes that spot in the sand because of the low flow than liking the cyanobacteria as the bacteria can't form such a relationship. It is a symbiotic relationship between the anemone and clownfish as the anemone will allow the clowns to live in their stinging tentacles and in return the clownfish will take care of it, protect it, and even feed it at times.
