Are you adding salt to water or water to salt? Could the salt have been exposed to water/ dampness prior to you using it (this would make the salt in the bag clumpy/ hard)?

I am adding the salt to the water
Then stirring it
The bag does have some clumps but it hasnt been exposed to any moisture

If it has clumps it may have been exposed to some dampness. Your better off getting the buckets, more reliable. Did you try mixing the salt in slower, and aerating it over night?

Send a message via ICQ to ccCapt
What brand salt are you using?
I would suggest dropping a powerhead in the bucket before you start adding salt to keep the water circulating.
