woohoo - My shipment from saltwaterfish.com came in this morning

10-blueleg hermits
10-zeroth snails
2-emerald crabs
1-black brittle star
2-featherduster

and...

1 colt coral (Great purple color..I am excited)
When i did my initial research about the colt, most information led me to believe that intentional feedings are not required. I just saw a website that suggested that feedings would be beneficial. Now i am confused.

Any advice?

Thanks

John

I have had a colt coral for eight years and never fed it intentional. They feed mostly from light and whatever is in tank. It will be OK.

What lighting do you have on the 37? I have never fed mine either, I do feed the tank phytoplankton every week. They do grow big and fast in the right conditions so don't be suprized if it out grows your tank..

Mine took over the right side of my 175 bow, it was never fed anything extra.

I just got a coralife fixture with 2x65 PC and lunar LEDs.

My open brain has been really thriving under the new light, so I am pretty excited about what the colt will do.

I have heard that the colt's can grow crazy fast and take over. Right now I have him placed on a rock at the bottom right of the tank. its been about 4 hours since I finished aclimation and it is starting to really open up.

Gonna hate going back to work on Monday...hehe

thanks all.

John
