Colt Coral Tip Fell Off

The very tip of my colt coral was hanging oon when I got it home and about 3 days later it came off, what shall I do with it?? should I try to propagate it??? right now its just flowing freely. If you want to see a pic of my colt (I am sure it is a colt) juts view my photo and tell me what to do, the piece isnt off when I took the pic but its about 1/2 inch or less

Can't tell the species by the pic all that well but it's a tree coral (Lemnalia sp. or Capnella sp. more likely the first). If you can find a small hole to place it in where it will get good light, it should attach and grow fine depending on water parameters. Either that or a shallow bowl with some rubble rock covered in veil material.

Cheers
Steve

I would make any attempt to save stray pieces like that whenever possible. Great looking coral by the way

Quite normal for most soft corals to shrink back once in a while. Usually when there is a light change, they need to shed, when they get disturbed or have simpley received enough light for the day. Most times it's nothing to be concerned about.
