converting saltwater to freshwater

Vinegar will get any coralline off, but if it was me I'd use a strong bleach solution... maybe like 1:5 bleach to water. (Use rubber gloves!) Just rinse it out good and let it air out for a couple days before filling it again. That's what I've done with my quarantine tank.

If the tank is glass, a scraper blade will help with any thick coraline build up. If it is acrylic, you could use a credit card to help scrape. Other than that, ^^^ what they said. :)
