It's a variety of brown starburst polyp that has gone crazy. I vary the circulation every 2 minutes with a pair of the #8 Magnum fans and the whole head sways like a head of hair. Some polyps are over 10" long.

Nice, loving the octospawn (if that's what it is) I so want one! Did you build your house? or build the tank in after you bought the house??

The house is relatively small and 12 sided, is located on a 45% hill full of trees. I built the tank to fit the center of the house. It is the focal point from all rooms.
The algae scrubber, 100 gallon sump, custom protein skimmer and chiller are located in a room in the basement. 2" flexible PVC pipes run thru the floor to service the tank. Everything is now lit by LED replacing over 2000 watts of metal halide.

It is a piece of frogspawn I bought as a frag from the LFS. It was only 3 polyps when I planted it there on the corner. It's the size of a softball now.

Is that a torch coral in one pic? Tank is awesome. How many tangs you have? Oh and that is cool behavior. Maybe like in nature. The more like nature, the better!

Gorgeous tank man. I wish I had the space for a larger tank but our floor won't support something that big with structural work so gonna have to wait till the wife is done grad school and we move. It is a wonderful looking job.

Yes, it is a green torch. It has been adding heads, only been in the tank about 4 months.
I have 4 Tangs, 3 yellow and 1 Sail fin.
I had to install a steel beam in my floor to take the weight.
