I just added a coral banded shrimp to one of my tanks yesterday and in less than 24 hours it molted. Normally I wouldn't be concerned because I know it's something that happens but the timing has me worried. Is it just coincidence or should I be concerned? If it's the latter what should I look out for (water parameters, etc)?

Thanks!

After another day and still a happy shrimp I'm much less worried. I totally agree with you two, just a coincidence.

Most of my shrimp have molted right after getting them home, i think it has to do with the temp & ph change even after acclimation. No worries for sure!

It could also be the iodine level in your water. Have you been adding any besides what's in your salt mix?

Nothing other than red sea coral pro salt.
