If you have the money and want one, then sure why not? I have several tanks and have never used a uv on any of them and all is well.

Ive never used UV sterilization on my tank. Never was too sure on the pros and cons in a reef setting, either.
A definite con, besides initial cost, would be the yearly bulb change.
