I have a 260watt Coralife Aqualight PC Light on my 72gal oceanic bowfront tank. I currently have it sitting over the plexiglass tank cover but want to instead mount it on stands.

I was wondering if I use the Coralife stands for the Aqualight will I still be able to put the canopy on the tank. Do the stands for the light interfere with canopy placement?

There are two models of stands for this light. The links are below. I would prefer the adjustable one of course. The adjustable stand info said not recommended for canopies but I was curious if it was possible. If anyone has any idea on this I would appreciate it.

Adjustable Stand:

Non-adjustable stand:

Thanks,

Cant help much on the lighting but be careful with your cover as it will help promote poor gas exchange which will lower your PH in your tank. Good luck on your search

Thanks for the advice. That happens to be one of the reasons why I'm trying to get the stands. In addition, I think it will be easier maintenance as well.

I have the non adjustable stand. As far as it interfering with a canopy though, I'm not sure. As long as you can get the canopy to fit around the four areas that the stand is gonna touch the top of the tank, I don't see a problem. I guess one reason why the adjustable isn't reccomended for canopies is because it takes up so much room on the side of the tank?
