I realize Coraline Algae is a good thing, but the question I have is how to remove it from areas you don't want it to grow on. It is starting to grow on the front of the tank and also the heater, the heater I can remove and clean that is no big deal, but can I use a razor blade to remove it from the front?

Probably a stupid question, but I had to ask.

If you have a glass tank yes you could use a razerblade. Kind of dangerious on your fingers but ya.

I use the Kent pro scrapper. it has a metal blade on it but its not sharpend like a razer edge. I hold it at a low angle to the glass and scrape away.

Many people use a creditcard or callingcard to remove it.

Ok, great thanks! Leaving it on the back and it's filling in nice.

One other question, can it wreck your powerheads, it's all over one of ours.

Thanks!

It can clog up the intake of a ph, I suppose, but doubtful it will wreck one, at least I've never had one that I could blame that on.

Thanks! Good to know about the powerheads, we have the ones no one likes on here, they seem to work ok for us, we clean them every couple weeks.
