What do I need to do to promote/increase the growth of coraline on my live rock. I have some red/purple/burgundy patches on my rock, but I would really like to do something that will promote growth. I like th colors of the rock when it has the algae on it. Any ideas?

Feed the rock. B-Ionic calcium and alkalinity additives will help. Keep calcium levels at 450 and alkalinity levels between 2 and 4. Tanks fitted with Refugiums also seem to benefit coraline algae growth. I have an 18 gallon reef with an Ecosystem 40 on it and the coraline algae grows in disks hanging off the rocks. Once photos in my gallery are approved you can help yourself to a peek at the coraline algae in there.

strontium will help it spread as well. I use seachem reef complete calcium which also has strontium. This keeps my calcium levels up as well.

I just started with Bionic so I'll know soon enough if it works very good.
