I have a 46g tank with 40lbs of LR and 3 inches of sand. The live rock came with pretty good coralline algae, but I was wondering if my lighting is adequate? I have the lighting that came with the tank, but replace the bulbs with 50/50 coralights. Is this enough lighting to maintain the coralline algae? Since I got the rock some of the algae seems to be chipping off, but in other places it looks like it turning a very dark maroon color, Still nice looking.

I have yet to see a tank setup that came with enough light to maintain the coraline algae growth on LR. For LR maintainance I would recommend 2-3 wpg.
