Curing my own rock :) 1st time

Well I went and got some rock and have it curing in a rubbermaid tub from home depot, first time i have done this. And naturally i have a question. It has been 24 hours since i started curing the LR and checked the ammonia and nitrites and expectedly they are high. How often should i do water changes? My LFS said once a week but with these high levels it makes me nervous, what ya'll think?

~~~My setup~~~
40gal plexi aquarium, 2x96w PC's, Fluval 404 filter, Remora Pro Protein skimmer, 2xMaxiJet 600 PH, 30lbs LR, 140lbs Live Sand <Aragonite>, 1 Sailfin Tang, 2 Percula Clowns, 2 Neon Gobies, colony of green striped mushrooms.
Cleaners: 1 blue-legged Hermit, 5 assorted small crabs, 6 nassarius snails, 2 bumblebee snails and 5 Trochus snails.
The curing article on this site recommends 50% every other day. Really depends on how much life you want to keep on the rock. I had some rock that smelled s bad that I did water changes every day! Normally every other day is ok.
