I have some rock that use to be live, but it is partialy dried out and been out of the water for a month or two. I was torn on how to deal with it, but i decided to get a small pump and heater, and basically cure it. The pump i got is 80gph. I was going to use a 5 gallon bucket, but it was a tight fit for 30lbs of rock, so i put it in a 17 or so gallon tote. I put 10-15 gallons of water in it. Do you think 80gph will be enough for the purpose of curing the rock?

That will be just fine. I'd give the rock a really good scrub before curing it to get any gunk from the prior setup from going into the new one. No need for nitrates from an old tank to carry over.
