Is this cyano? Looks more like diatoms but the tank is over a year old. Any ideas?

Id say its not cyano and could be a fairly heavy diatoms

Highly doubt it's diatoms in a year old tank unless you've added sand recently. Looks more like cyano to me, increase flow and decrease nutrients and it'll go away

Interesting you say that. It's a 70 gallon tank with one tang fed one cube a week. If I lower nutrients anymore he won't get fed! I've read reviews that certain people have had problems with certain salts so I'm considering changing that

First thing I would do is try getting a little more flow in those areas. And you don't necessarily have to reduce feeding, but you probably want to do larger wcs

I do 15% per week, I'll start upping them and see if they work
