I have a cyano bacteria on my sand bed only. It's a very fine grain sand. About 2" deep. I have good flow with two wp-25s
I was thinking about vacuuming out all the sand cleaning it then putting it back. Any thoughts on this. Anyone got a better idea. ImageUploadedByAquarium Advice1397065723.164137.jpgImageUploadedByAquarium Advice1397065746.912677.jpg

yea siphon it out but what type of water are you using for changes? do you have an ro/di unit to produce pure water or do you use tap water

Dosing only covers up the problem, it doesn't fix the cause, cut back on feedings, siphon and wc with rodi. You can also change up your flow some.
