Cyano on sandbed

I have a cyano bacteria on my sand bed only. It's a very fine grain sand. About 2" deep. I have good flow with two wp-25s
I was thinking about vacuuming out all the sand cleaning it then putting it back. Any thoughts on this. Anyone got a better idea.

You could just siphon on the top and stay on your water changes

yea siphon it out but what type of water are you using for changes? do you have an ro/di unit to produce pure water or do you use tap water

Vacuum and throw away including sand.

Try coral snow, worked for me, dosing weekly now and no sign of it returning, suction out what you can, took about 2/3 weeks for it to clear but all good now

Don't dose what you can't test

Dosing only covers up the problem, it doesn't fix the cause, cut back on feedings, siphon and wc with rodi. You can also change up your flow some.
