cycling water

i have heard of using shrimp to help cycle the water, was wondering if i could use frozen krill, or frozen silver sides that i feed to my other tank to help the cycle? would it do the same as a piece of supermarket shrimp.

A raw cocktail shrimp from the graocery store will do the trick. Keep in mind that the cycling process pertains more to the substrate, filter media and andy LR inthe tank that can colonize the beneficial bacteria in your tank. The water really does not have much to do with it.
