i have a 12g aquapod and in the instructions it recommends this as the lighting cycle: LED 24 hours a day - dual actinic turn on 7am - dual daylight turn on 8 am - dual daylight turn off at 7 pm - dual actinic turn off at 8 pm. does this sound about right? also, is the only way to achieve this through the coralife power strip thing? thanks so much.

sounds like a good light cycle to me.

You dont' have to get the Coralife Powercenter. You can just go buy a few cheap timers from your local hardware store. They work just as good.
